Taste of the Islands

We are looking for folks for 2013, 3rd Annual Taste of the Islands – July 14, 2013.

TASTE OF THE ISLANDS

July 14, 2013, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm

Hosted by: Grand Isle Art Works at 259 US Route 2 in Grand Isle

The Taste of the Islandsis being held in conjunction with the 2013 Discover the Heart of the Islands: Open Farm and Studio Tour. For years, tour participants have asked for more places to eat the local foods. Taste of the Islands solves this problem!

The Grand Isle Art Works will provide a covered eating space with tables and chairs as well as several carefully placed port-o-lets! We hope to have music throughout the day. And, of course, the gallery and its artisans will be available for talks and demonstrations of their craft. Last year over 350 tour participants visited the gallery on its first day of operation without food! This NEW food event will be advertised in the tour brochure as well as by the gallery in several print and digital locations.

The Taste of the Islands will include:

  • Specialty foods produced in the islands
  • Signature dishes from
    • Local restaurants
    • Local caterers
    • Farmers’ Market vendors
    • Non-profit groups
  • Wine tasting
  • Art work
  • More – your ideas are welcome!

Please consider adding your food – libation temptations to the Taste of the Islands. Each food vendor will need to supply a table with tented covering. Appropriate Health Department requirements need to be followed. No fair stand license required. Electricity is available for a limited number of vendors. All attempts will be made to NOT duplicate food items. 10′x10′ Booth/table space: $35.00 for the day; non-profit groups: $25.00 Already on the tour brochure? $5.00 off!
