Summer has arrived in Vermont!

Goats on the loose!

To celebrate our first 80 degree days, we decided to let the lady goats out into the high grass.  Little did we know that they would think it TOO high!  They milled around the gate and had put themselves back in by mid afternoon!  Our brave little goats are really not so brave!

Home sweet home!

Getting Ready!

Dying yarn in a water bath on stove.

It is that time of year!  The hay has been cut once and is stored in the hay loft of our little barn.  Our goats are grazing and growing lots of beautiful fiber.  I am dying yarn like crazy!  Today’s color is honey mustard for some of our lace weight blended mohair!

Spring in November!

It’s true.  This week the weather has been glorious with temperatures reaching into the 70’s. No one is complaining – not Jim or I or our animals!

Oh – we have more animals – 8 alpacas have been added to our flock.

Bacca, Casper, Richard, Sapphron, Daisy, Tansy, Oreo, and Reese – we need to get name tags!  They join Dorito, M&M and Telemark.  Sadly we lost Dazzle a bit ago.  We have LOTS of fiber!

IMG_1578Sadly, our dear, Zeke – the original yellow dog is slowing down greatly.  He still manages to get down to the barn, but often gets confused on the way back.  He is one great dog!

ZekeandAlphHope your fall is as beautiful as ours!
